Riegersburg castle and the chocolate factory Zotter

On a foggy morning we headed towards the village of Riegersburg with its mighty fortress, also called Riegersburg. Two competent tour guides showed us the famous witch and weapon museum and all the other rooms of the fortress.

Afterwards we visited the world famous chocolate factory Zotter where we had the chance to taste the different kinds of hand scooped chocolates. It´s important to know that all the chocolates are made of fair trade ingredients. This is a direct way of supporting cocoa bean farmers.

The day ended with a stroll around the edible zoo.

Meeting Mr Winkelmaier, the mayor of Fehring

Mr Winkelmaier warmly welcomed us at the town hall of Fehring. Not only the Bulgarian guests but also the students of Schloss Stein listened to the explanations o f the mayor. He emphasized the importance of the so called „Vulkanland“ as a common touristic and economic region.  One of the main tasks of the „Vulkanland“ is to make people aware of the many regional and seasonal high quality foods produced and sold in the area. In that context he mentioned the Fachschule Schloss Stein as a role model in this process.

Adventures in dizzy height

A sunny Wednesday afternoon was dedicated to physical challenge. We needed a lot of motivation to do the different levels of the high rope courses in the tree climbing park of Sebersdorf. Those of us who tried really hard were rewarded with sore muscles the next day.
